Allan Patterson established Patterson Grain Limited in 1977 with an objective of marketing locally grown grain and beans to end use markets. In the early 1990’s, Patterson began to diversify its product mix to include increasing amounts of edible beans and specialty food grade white corn.

These are some photographs of the business in it's early stages showing the first grain dryers and the edible bean colour sorting equipment.

Today, Patterson Grain Limited has a position within the agricultural industry providing a sound line of agronomic crops and marketing services to the marketplace. Patterson prides itself in its ability to process black beans with the use of cleaning and video sorting equipment to consistently achieve food grade Canada # 1 black beans for the consumer market. Patterson also markets yellow corn, crusher soybeans, soft red wheat, oats, barley and straw and hay.

Allan Patterson partnered with Steve Bradley in 2005. Steve expanded the business scope with the purchase of a few more trucks and trailers for shipping larger quantities of product, mostly into New York. Allan retired from the business management in 2009 and has been filling his days perfecting his carpentry skills.

Patterson Grain has a full-time staff of 5, consisting of an office manager, two A-Z licenced truck drivers and a team of two overseeing the elevator and processing plant.

As an exciting news item:
Patterson is looking forward to the installation of a new GRAIN DRYER to be ready for the 2015 wheat harvest!
